Teaneck, NJ – October 29, 2009 - Holy Name Hospital has been ranked Number 4 on Modern Healthcare magazine's national list of 100 "Best Places to Work in Healthcare" for 2009, and the only organization in the northeastern United States to be included in the list's top 10. This is the second year Modern Healthcare has conducted its "Best Places to Work" program, and the second year that Holy Name has received the honor for workplace excellence. The Hospital was ranked sixth on last year's roster.
"Best Places to Work in Healthcare" recognition is based on the results of a comprehensive employer questionnaire and an anonymous survey of randomly-selected employees from the organization, who complete an in-depth questionnaire about eight core workplace criteria: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervision, training and development, pay and benefits, and overall satisfaction.
"This honor speaks volumes about our hospital," says Michael Maron, President/CEO. "Holy Name is always looking at how we can do better, and how we can involve our employees more in the organization and empower them in their jobs. Our Human Resources team is also very creative in developing ways to help staff balance work and personal life. Of course, the ultimate reward for being an exemplary workplace is patient satisfaction. Our staff members are our greatest resource and when they project enthusiasm and a sense that they enjoy working here, it gives our patients confidence and reflects well upon our entire organization. Passion and purpose define us; this recognition validates that."
