When the weather gets warm people head outside and that is exactly where you will find Community Healthcare Network's HIV Counseling and Testing team this summer - in the parks, beaches and at outdoor community events.
"We're committed to making HIV counseling and testing convenient for people," said CHN President and CEO Catherine M. Abate.
Recent outdoor testing events include sending CHN's mobile health unit to Union Square in Manhattan and to Orchard Beach in the Bronx in recognition of National HIV Testing Day on June 27th.
"This is the third year CHN has brought our mobile health unit into the community for National HIV Testing Day," said CHN's AVP of HIV Programs and Services, Dr. Freddy Molano. "We've had a positive response each year."
160 people were tested in Union Square and 110 at Orchard Beach.
HIV Counselors are also scheduled to provide testing this summer at hair salons, senior centers and community events.
