Teaneck, NJ – June 24, 2009 – More than 200 "guys" enjoyed a fun night geared toward men's health and wellness at "Guys Night Out" sponsored by Holy Name Hospital through the Spirit of Women program. Holy Name is the only Spirit of Women hospital in the northeast and the first institution to hold the Guys Night Out event. "Holy Name was thrilled to be the pilot hospital for this event," states Suzanne Juliano, R.N., M.S., C.N.N., Spirit of Women Coordinator at Holy Name Hospital.

A highlight of the evening was the keynote speaker, George Martin, former New York Giant (1975-1988) and member of the New Jersey Sports Hall of Fame. In his address, Mr. Martin stressed the urgency of preventative healthcare and essential screenings. He emphasized the importance of maintaining good health not only for oneself, but for family members who love and depend on their father, spouse, or son. After his inspirational speech, fans were invited to have photographs taken with the defensive end while he signed autographs.

During the evening, Holy Name physicians held lectures on various topics ranging from sports medicine and chest pain to ED and aching joints. Guests were encouraged to have their BMI measured, blood pressure screened, and blood glucose tested.

Numerous demonstrations by vendors were featured in the main room including a Golf Swing Analyzer provided by Golf Tec, a skin analysis performed by LAB Series Skincare for Men of Bloomingdales, massages by HNH Fitness massage therapists, a "man cave" staged by Electronics Expo, and Harley- Davidson motorcycles brought by Bergen County Harley-Davidson/Buell, Rochelle Park. Many other vendors were present, including High Point Brewing Company, LifeScan, Inc., Mitchell Simon Co., Tiffany's, Piermont Bicycle Connection, Strictly Bicycles, Teaneck Police Department, Tenafly Bicycle Workshop, and Cabot Cheese.

"Guys Night Out was a proven success and achieved the goal of having fun while promoting health and wellness," Ms. Juliano states.
