Upcoming Event: Max Gomez and Joy Bauer Highlight Final Week of White Plains Hospital Center's Month-Long "Wellness Through Prevention" Celebration

Max Gomez, PhD, the award-winning broadcast journalist, health and medical reporter and Joy Bauer, MS, RD, CDN, nutrition expert and contributor to the Today Show, are highlights of the final week of White Plains Hospital Center’s community-wide “Wellness Through Prevention Month” celebration.

 

Throughout May, the Hospital has been providing a wide array of educational seminars, health screenings and fitness demonstrations to help people to adopt a healthy lifestyle including being physically active every day, eating a nutritious diet and getting preventive health screenings.


Dr. Gomez will moderate a panel discussion on healthy weight loss at 6 PM, Thursday, May 28 at The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, Five Renaissance Square, White Plains. The multi-disciplinary panel members are affiliated with White Plains Hospital Center: Roger Cappucci, MD, Cardiologist and Vice President, WPHC Medical and Dental Staff; Jonas Leibowitz, MD, Endocrinology Chief; Karen Pechman, MD, Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; Philip Weber, MD, bariatric surgery specialist and Dawn Sheafe, RN, board certified family nurse practitioner and certified diabetes educator. The panel discussion is free of charge for the public. Registration is required by calling (914) 681-2650. 

 

Ms. Bauer will discuss ways to optimize health through nutrition, as well as her new book, during a lunch and learn session at 11:30 AM, Friday, May 29, at Doral Arrowwood, 975 Anderson Hill Road, Rye Brook, sponsored by the Hospital’s Auxiliary. Cost including lunch is $75 per person and registration is required by calling (914) 681-2650.
