Called a "pianist miracle," Hai-Kyung Suh transfixes audiences, say reviewers, with her "passionate musicality and dramatic expressiveness rarely seen" (
Professor Suh, a breast cancer survivor, is the goodwill ambassador for Holy Name Hospital's Walk for Mom Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, an annual walk-a-thon organized by the hospital's Korean Medical Program. Walk for Mom is designed to build awareness of breast health among Korean-American women, for whom the number of new breast cancer cases has doubled over the past 10 years. The campaign focuses on encouraging women to follow guidelines for routine self-examination, annual mammography and clinical examinations.
This year, the Walk for Mom Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign's fundraising goal is $100,000. The monies will be used to provide free mammography services to 200 low-income Korean-American women, as well as follow-up procedures, such as ultrasound, biopsies and surgery. Last year, the campaign raised over $100,000 and discovered early-stage breast cancer in two women, who subsequenty received surgical treatment.
Tickets to "Night & Dream" are priced at $100, $50, $40, $30 and $20, and can be obtained by contacting the box office at 212-875-5050. For information about
