At the January 26 press conference at White Plains Hospital Center (WPHC), Congresswoman Nita Lowey (second from left) joined the Hospital's caregivers in a demonstration of WPHC's pioneering health information technology initiatives, designed to improve patient safety and outcomes, lower administrative costs and prevent medical errors. Lowey supports including $2 billion in the economic recovery package pending in Congress for upfront health IT costs such as equipment and training as a critical priority.
