Nyack, NY - November 13, 2008 - Nyack Hospital is pleased to announce that it offers Guided Infant Touch classes for new parents. Research shows that Guided Infant Touch is a rewarding way for parents and newborns to relieve stress, and can be learned by anyone interested in having a loving relationship with a baby! Guided Infant Touch teaches a nurturing way to communicate, and helps to deepen the growing bond between infants and parents.
Benefits to Guided Infant Touch include relaxing and soothing babies, improving communication, contributing to development, and improving sleep patterns. Classes are taught by Sukey Molloy, certified infant touch instructor, and developmental movement educator, and are designed to teach specific touch strokes to suit the unique and individual needs of both baby and parent. Classes are appropriate for parents with babies aged 6 weeks through pre-crawling.
This 4-week series will be held January 10, 17, 24 and 31, from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at Nyack Hospital. To register, please call 845.348.2639. The fee for the entire series is $175.
You will need to bring several clean towels and blankets, a well stocked diaper bag, fragrance free massage oil, extra receiving blankets for warmth, and loose comfortable clothing suitable for sitting on the floor. We look forward to spending time with you and your baby!
About Our Instructor
Sukey Molloy is a certified infant touch instructor with the International Association for Infant Massage, developmental movement educator, award winning performing artist of children's music, and founder of the Play Move & Sing program for children. Sukey teaches infant, toddler and pre-school age children in mommy and me movement and song classes in Nyack, NY, and teaches in nursery schools and centers in Rockland County. She gives training workshops and educational presentations at colleges and conferences, and is currently working on developing her third CD, along with a new DVD project, Sukey's Circle!
