First Female Colon and Rectal Surgeon in Westchester Joins White Plains Hospital Center

White Plains, NY - November 1, 2008 -  White Plains Hospital Center (WPHC) has announced the appointment of Kimberly A. Yee, M.D. to its Medical Staff. Dr. Yee, the first female Colon and Rectal Surgeon to practice in Westchester County, has joined the Weber, Weber, and Weber Surgery Practice in White Plains.

 

Dr. Yee graduated from the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She completed a General Surgery Residency and a Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She then completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

 

Dr. Yee is skilled in the management of diseases of the colon, rectum and anus with special interests in disorders of the pelvic floor and anorectal physiology. She is also experienced in laparoscopy and endoscopy. 

 

She is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
