Clinical Cancer Genetics Program Launched at Nyack Hospital

Nyack, NY - October 27, 2008 - Nyack Hospital is pleased to announce launching of its Clinical Cancer Genetics Program.  Under the direction of Nelly Jouayed Oundjian, M.D., the Cancer Genetics Program offers Cancer Risk Assessments, Genetic Counseling, and Genetic Testing to individuals who have a personal and or/family history of cancer. 

                                                                                                      

Dr. Oundjian is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and is currently the Director of the Comprehensive Genetics Program at Harlem Hospital.

 

Dr. Oundjian completed her medical training at Aleppo University School of Medicine, where she graduated with honors.  She completed her Post doctoral fellowship in Clinical Genetics at Presbyterian Hospital, and is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Clinical Genetics.  She belongs to the American Society of Human Genetics, the New York State Genetics Task Force and the New York State Sickle Cell Center Screening and Counseling Implementation and Advisory Committees. She is a frequent guest lecturer at health and medical conferences, including the March of Dimes.
