John Collins joined the Winthrop team in July 1997 as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to COO in February 2007. Over the past decade, Mr. Collins has effectively managed all financial operations for the Hospital, as well as those of Winthrop's property holding company, subsidiaries, foundation, faculty practice and joint ventures.

Mr. Collins earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Queens College in 1976 and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1982. He is active in several professional organizations, including the New York State Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the Finance Committees for Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) and the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), and is a past-Chairman of the Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council Committee on Finance. On several occasions, he has been honored with awards from the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Palmira Cataliotti has been with Winthrop since she joined the Finance team in 1997 as Accounting Manager. She has since been promoted to Assistant Controller, Controller and, in 2005, Director of Finance for the Hospital. As Director of Finance, Ms. Cataliotti has been responsible for the development of annual operating and capital budgets and the oversight of consolidated financial statements for the Hospital, its subsidiaries and the Winthrop-South Nassau University Health System. In addition, she has been responsible for all financial audits and administrative oversight of the Patient Accounts and Clinical Practice Physician Billing departments. 

Ms. Cataliotti earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Hofstra University in 1990 and became a Certified public accountant in New York State in 1994. She is a member of various professional organizations including the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
